Elaine Dean, a beloved friend, fierce soul, and faithful advocate for the vulnerable, passed away recently after a life marked by strength, wit, and deep compassion.
Elaine was one of the toughest people we’ve ever known. She was resilient through hardship, unshakably kind, and always ready with a sharp joke or clever one-liner. Her sense of humor was one of her many gifts, bringing light to the darkest days and laughter to those who knew her well.
She had a deep love for animals, especially her cherished cats. Elaine knew what it meant to walk through hard things, and she used that hard-won wisdom to love others with a fierce tenderness. She spent her life looking out for the world’s most vulnerable, both human and animal, and showed up with generosity and grit.
Despite many challenges, Elaine made the most of her life. She was a testament to perseverance, and she leaves behind a legacy of courage and care.
She was loved by many, including all of us at Jesus on Colfax. We will miss her honesty, her strength, her humor, and her heart.
Rest well, Elaine. You were truly one of a kind.
